Happy Easter!

Posted in Uncategorized on April 13, 2009 by lfleece3

Hello lovelies…

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Easter weekend. I enjoyed taking a day off, but now it’s back to the madness of school! We have 2 and a half weeks left and then we’re off for the summer!!!! I can’t waitto have free time again.

Right now I’, just trying to stay on top of all of my work (not going so well)! As far as our studio project goes, I think things are looking good. We have a final design for the space, plus a nice idea for how the desk will be laid out.I’m trying to work on some final dimensions for a few things and then hopefullywe can start working on our final models.

The main thing I’m worried about right now is fitting everything in. I’m going out of town for the weekend before finals week, and I’m really concerned that our stuff might not get done! Let’s hope so.

See you soon!

Blogging!!!

Hello all,

Today was a very productive day in studio… we pinned up 5 concepts for our new bank teller desks. After we explained each concept to the whole class we narrowed it down to our “Nautilus Shell” idea. Basically we are trying to incorporate the idea of personalized banking and safety inito the customer’s experience… we hope to do this by changing the way that the teller interacts with the customer through the layout of their desk. We are still figuring out the details, but for now I think we are excited about the track that we are on.

thanks for listening, stay tuned…

Today’s the Day!

I have a million things to do and no time to talk, so I’m just gonna say hey and then run…

Don’t feel neglected, this is how it’s going to be for the next two weeks…

I have three projects, and a portfolio to complete, plus a ton of concepts to draw, and sanity to keep… see you soon!

Finishing up the semester.

Now that we are back from New York things at school are really starting to get crazy! We have started some serious research for our final studio project, I have started working with my group for our final presentation in Materials, we are working on making portfolios for Professional Practices, I just started my yacht design module which is basically killing me, and I have a killer final in my American Goverment class…. plus two other final assignments.

Basically right now just having time to breathe is a luxury. I feel like everyone is inthe same boat though… like the whole world… i wish this crazy speed would slow down. I feel like everything I do is just enought to get it done, and nothing ever looks really good.

I’m just trying to make it til May right now….. we’ll see how it goes.

Stay tuned…

Today is the Day!

Today seems to be a really random day of class…. We just got back from spring break and we’re heading to New York tomorrow, so I’m basically just trying to get some last minute things done, while getting started on our next project. I’m working with Bryan Ake and Emma Hoop, and we all have really different work styles so hopefully we can come together to use or different strengths to make a really awesome design.

I’m also getting really excited about going to New York tomorrow…. the 15 hour bus ride is definitely going to be a low point/ madness. But I’m really excited to spend a couple of days looking at businesses in the big city. Who knows….

If you want to stay updated on the trip don’t forget to visit the website at atltonyc.com and read our live blogs! It’s going to be awesome.

Stay tuned, and I’ll write again when we get back!

Spring Break!!!!

Posted in Uncategorized on March 13, 2009 by lfleece3

It’s officially spring break and I’m headed to the beach tomorrow. I plan on using this time to relax and to get ready to power through the rest of this semester because as soon as we get back from break my studio section is head to NY!!!!

We will get to see a ton of different design firms and the Museum of Modern Art. Hopefully this trip will be a great experience, and hopefully the 15 hour drive won’t be too terrible. Anyway I’m off to pack.

Happy beaching!

Welding…

Posted in Uncategorized on March 11, 2009 by lfleece3

Today we took a field trip to a metal working shop, and got the opportunity to use some of the machines in the shop. We also haad the chance to weld two pieces of metal together… scary right?…. well i will admit it wasn’t quite as bad as i had expected. Although i didn’t find it to be extremely fun, it wasn’t a bad experience or anything.

Also, today we made another video for the ATL to NYC website. It seems like it will be a good one so you should check it out at atltonyc.com

Finally, I am really excited about the idea of redesigning a workspace for a bank teller in this next project. I think that this work area in most banks can be very boring compared to the design of the rest of the building. Hopefully this will be a great chance for me to really get into interior design and work to make these workspaces really great.

We’ll see…..

Project number 3….

Posted in Uncategorized on March 9, 2009 by lfleece3

Today is the start of our next project. We are working on designing work spaces, and Emma, Bryan and I are in a group to help make a Bank Teller’s life more exciting….. I think Emma is most excited about the “tube-y things” I hope that whatever the final design ends up looking like will be something that takes the Tellers off the back wall of the bank and makes them a more centralized part of the building!

Now on to research….

New Orleans…. you jealous?

Posted in Uncategorized on March 7, 2009 by lfleece3

So I haven’t slept in a record 64 hours…. wow! but that’s okay because I am currently in New Orleans! Tonight we went to a Jazz Concert hall and watched a six person jazz band play a few songs! It was awesome, but I am finally headed to bed. HOORAY!

Maybe for the next review I will only have to stay awake for 1 night instead of 2…. that’s the goal, we’ll see if it actually happens.
